Nordic Rights Condemns Escalating Violence In Ukraine and Calls For Immediate Ceasefire

Our organization is deeply concerned about the recent developments in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, particularly the series of explosions that rocked the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. We vehemently condemn the use of violence and the disregard for human lives in this conflict.

According to the latest reports, the city of Kyiv has suffered a significant attack, marked by a barrage of missiles and drones. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that more than 20 missiles and drones were destroyed by air defense forces overnight. The attack, described by the administration as “the most powerful” since the spring, highlights the escalating tensions in the region. The use of massive combined attacks involving drones and missiles signifies a dangerous escalation in the conflict.

Serhii Popko, the head of Kyiv City Military Administration, confirmed the gravity of the situation, labeling the attack as “massive” and unprecedented since the spring. The city was targeted from various directions using drones, followed by missile launches from strategic bombers. Ukrainian air defense forces acted swiftly and managed to intercept and destroy more than 20 enemy targets.
