Nordic Rights Condemns Russian War Crimes In Ukraine And Urges International Accountability

We are deeply concerned about the recent escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and we condemn in the strongest terms the reported Russian war crimes that have taken place in Ukraine.

In a press conference held on Monday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, standing alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, expressed his support for international efforts to ensure that Russian war crimes do not go unpunished. “The actions of Russia in Ukraine must be punished under international law,” Prime Minister Mitsotakis stated unequivocally. He also expressed his unreserved condemnation of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

We stand in solidarity with President Zelenskiy’s gratitude towards Danish politicians for their assistance in resisting Russia’s invasion. His warning that the threat extends beyond Ukraine and that the aggression poses a risk to all of Russia’s neighbors resonates deeply with our organization’s values.

Denmark’s decision to provide Ukraine with American F-16 fighter jets is being portrayed as an escalation of the conflict by Russia’s ambassador to Denmark, Vladimir Barbin. However, we regret the reported injuries and disruptions caused by the conflict. The incident of a Ukrainian drone being shot down over Moscow, resulting in injuries to civilians, is a stark reminder of the human cost of conflict. We call for all parties involved to prioritize the protection of civilians and adhere to international humanitarian law.
